RESEARCH PROJECT:NAanotherapies DIagnnostics by On-
Chip Spin resonance (NADIOS)
RESEARCHER PROFILE: Post-doc
DEADLINE (reception of applications): 30/10/2023.
LOCATION: Spain › Zaragoza
TYPE OF CONTRACT: temporary, 2 years.
JOB STATUS: full‐time
HOURS PER WEEK: 37.5
PROGRAMME: INMA collaborative project (BIONANOSURF and
QMAD groups)
Project description
NADIOS is a collaborative project between the groups BioNanoSurf and QMAD of INMA that aims at monitoring in
real time the activation of advanced nanotherapeutics that generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon
activation by remote stimuli to improve the control and efficacy for tumor treatment or tissue regeneration. The
approach is to develop highly sensitive on-chip Electron Spin Resonance (EPR) resonators for in-cell detection of
radicals and radical adducts.
Main tasks:
- Design of experimental protocols to asses the activation of nanotherapeutics using spin traps in vitro and in cells
- Development of on-chip microwave microresonators adapted to the detection of said spin traps.
- Assessment of different therapeutics by EPR experiments of spin traps contained in a small number of cells.
- Dissemination of the scientific outcome: Elaborate reports, write scientific articles, conference presentations, etc
Qualifications/Skills
PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Nanoscience.
Expertise on EPR, spin trapping techniques and/or developing miniaturized microwave resonators.
Good communication skills in English
